One Week Old

Hailey has already been home for a week today! For a newborn baby, she has been very good to her parents. She hardly ever cries for more than a few minutes and is already sleeping for four hours at night. Mom and baby are getting better at breastfeeding every day but if anyone tells you that breastfeeding is easy, their full of poop. We're sticking with it but Mom's not sure how long it will last.

We took the whole family for a walk yesterday and had a great time. Our first child (the four legged one) desperately needed to get out of the house but our first-born completely slept through her first trip to the park. It's been warming up quickly here (90* F) so we have to get our excercise in the morning.

Our other big trip this week was Hailey's one-week check up with the pediatrician. The doctor called her "all arms and legs" but she is back to her birth weight, which means she is eating well. She has had the hickups almost all the time but the doctor told us the Indian culture believes that means she's growing. Here in the states, it just means she has the hickups a lot.

Hailey also had some great bonding time with the grandparents this week. Amy's folks came to visit on Sunday and Monday and Patrick's Mom stayed with us Tuesday through Thursday. Daddy got to get out of the house to go to the Sharks game on Sunday. Thanks Nan! Go Sharks!

Now, the latest ooohs and aaawes...

Hailey is unbelievably adorable! I can't wait to see her in person. BTW - I don't think I've seen Pat smile that big (than in the Berkeley onesie pic) since his wedding day; course, I'm not there that often either ;)

Too bad Hailey didn't seem quite as enthused about the Berkeley onsie as Pat did. Maybe she'd smile if you put a Davis outfit on her? Like Kate, we can't wait to meet her!
